New at basehasefer.com : Word Cloud Animation!

One more feature has arrived at Base Hasefer that didn't make it into the pre-Sukkos update.  This one has a bonus since it comes with an exciting new video to demo the feature.

This will show an animation that will take you through word clouds for all the פרשיות השבוע of the year starting from בראשית and ending at וזאת הברכה.

To play with the new feature yourself, do the following:

1) Click on the Object Clouds panel from the home page to display the popup window

2) Select a starting location within Tanach from the popup window launched by the section selection button:

3) An animation control panel will now appear at the bottom of the Object Clouds popup window.  Click the play button to launch an animation.

Reminder: this feature is officially called "Object Clouds" since it's not restricted to merely displaying raw word frequency.  See the search setting panel on the right side of the screen where one can make selections to generate cloud frequency diagrams on a) any combination of letters, nekudos and taamim; b) word roots c) even gematria (as displayed below) and atbash.

בייס-הספר עודכן לתחילת שנת תשפ"ב לכלול עיצוב מחדש של דף הבית, פרטים נרחבים מילה במילה לתוצאות חיפוש, ותכונות חדשות אחרות.

לנוחות נוספת, דף הבית של basehasefer.com עוצב מחדש כדי להציג לוחות תמונה תיאוריים המקשרים לכל דף תכונה באתר. עדיין ניתן לגשת לתכונת "פרשיות התנ"ך", המאפשרת גלישת פרטי כל פרשת פתוחה וסתומה של תנ"ך, על ידי לחיצה על לוחתה שבדף הבית או שימוש בתפריט הראשי של האתר כמו פעם.

בנוסף, התכונות החדשות הבאות הוצגו לאתר:

פרטי מילה במילה

• לחיצה על סימן הפלוס ליד שורות תוצאות החיפוש פותחת כעת רשימה נרחבת של מידע מילה אחר מילה עבור אותו פסוק שלם.

• ניתן לגשת לאותו מידע גם כטיפ כלים על ידי ריחוף מעל כל מילה שבפסוקי תוצאות החיפוש

זהירות: זוהי תכונה ניסיונית חדשה ומידע לדקדוק ויישור מילים בין תנ"ך לתרגום כפוף לטעויות !!!

לוח סיכום תנאי חיפוש

בכל פעם שמתחילים חיפוש, כל תנאי החיפוש מסוכמים כעת ללוח הניתנת להרחבה בפינה השמאלית העליונה של המסך

העתק והדבק סטטיסטיקות של פסוק

לחיצה ימנית על שורות תוצאות החיפוש תציג כעת אפשרות בתפריט ההקשר המאפשר להעתיק/להדביק נתונים סטטיסטיים עבור אותו פסוק

התאמות קלות יותר להגדרות המחוון

הגדרות חיפוש הנשלטות על ידי מחוונים מאפשרות כעת עריכה ישירה של ערכי הגדרה על ידי לחיצה על תיבת הטקסט המספרית הסמוכה לכל מחוון

Base Hasefer: a new look for 5782

Base Hasefer has been updated for the beginning of 5782 to include a homepage redesign, extensive word-by-word details for search results and other new features.

For added convenience, the home page for basehasefer.com has be redesigned to introduce descriptive image panels that link to each site feature page. The “Parsha Viewer”, which allows browsing details of each parsha pesucha and stuma of Tanach, can still be accessed by clicking on its home page panel or by using the main site feature menu as before. 

Plus, the following new features have been introduced to the site:

Word-by-word details

• Clicking the plus sign near search result rows now opens up an extensive list of word-by-word information for that entire pasuk

• The same information can also be accessed as a tooltip by hovering over each word in search result pesukim

Caution: This is an experimental new feature and information for grammar and word-alignment between Tanach and Targum is subject to errors!!!

Search criteria summary panel

Each time a search is launched, all search criteria now gets summarized into an expandable panel on the upper left of the screen

Copy and paste pasuk statistics

Right-clicking on search result rows will now show an option in the context menu that lets one copy/paste statistics for that pasuk

Easier adjustments for slider settings

Search settings controlled by sliders now enable direct editing of setting values by clicking on the numeric text box adjacent to each slider

תכונות חדשות זמינות כעת בבייס הספר

הוצגו שלל נתונים סטטיסטיים ברמת פסוק.

ניתן לצפות בהם בשתי דרכים:

1) כטיפ כלים בעת ריחוף מעל שורה ברשת תוצאות החיפוש:

2) כעמודות נוספות ברשת התוצאות הנשלטות על ידי בורר נפתח חדש עמודות סטטיסטיות המופיע בפינה השמאלית התחתונה של תוצאות החיפוש:

כעת תוכל למיין את תוצאות החיפוש על סמך נתונים סטטיסטיים אלה בסדר עולה או יורד באמצעות פקדי סדר המיון החדשים בחלונית הגדרת החיפוש בצד ימין:

אתה יכול גם להשתמש בתוכן זה לחיפושים בעלי עוצמה גבוהה כאשר תוצאות פסוקים מסוננות על ידי כל אחת מהסטטיסטיקה הזו, למשל על ידי ציון טווח ערכים מותר או על ידי ציון ערך מדויק להתאמה. זה נעשה על ידי פתיחת החיפוש המתקדם כאשר הבורר מופיע מימין לסרגל החיפוש, ואז בחירה בכרטיסיית הגדרות פסוק, ולבסוף באמצעות המחוונים בחלק התחתון של הכרטיסייה כדי לציין את קריטריוני החיפוש שלך (שניתן בשילוב עם כל שאר קריטריוני החיפוש). מכיוון שיש הרבה קריטריונים מבוססי סטטיסטיקה לבחירה, השתמש בסרגל הגלילה האנכי שמופיע משמאל כדי לראות אפשרויות נוספות.

New Version of Base Hasefer: Pasuk Statistics!

New features are now available on Base Hasefer

A whole slew of pasuk-level statistics have been introduced.

They can be viewed in two ways:

1) as a tooltip when hovering over a row in the search results grid:

2) as extra columns in the results grid that are controlled by a new dropdown selector Statistics Columns that appears to the lower left of the search results:

You can now sort the search results based on these statistics in ascending or descending order by using the new sort order controls in the search setting panel on the right:

You can also use this content for high-powered searches where pasuk results are filtered by any of these statistics eg. by specifying a range of allowable values or by specifying an exact value to match. This is accomplished by opening up the Advanced Search with the selector appearing to the right of the search bar, then selecting the Pasuk Settings tab, and finally by using the sliders in the lower section of the tab to specify your search criteria (which can be combined with all other search criteria).  Since there are many statistic-based criteria from which to choose, use the vertical scrollbar appearing on the left to see extra options.

גרסה חדשה של בייס-הספר: סרטוני הדרכה ותוספת תכונות חדשות

1) סוף סוף יצרתי סרטוני הדרכה עבור בייס-הספר לאחר בקשות של אנשים רבים. (סליחות רבות בפני דוברי עברית שכן הסרטונים בשלב זה זמינים באנגלית בלבד )-: ).

ניתן לגשת אליהם בשתי דרכים:

א) ישירות דרך רשימת ההשמעה החדשה להדרכות בייס-הספר, או על ידי מעבר לערוץ של תרי"ג אנליטיקס.

ב) מקופץ העזרה ב- basehasefer.com כמו הדברים הבאים. יש שתי כרטיסיות חדשות בדיאלוג העזרה. "הדרכות" יציגו סרטון לנושא הנבחר אם קיים סרטון לאותו נושא (מכיוון שזה רק התחיל עכשיו, ברוב הנושאים לא יהיו סרטונים). הכרטיסייה "כל הדרכות" תציג רשימה של כל סרטוני ההדרכה הזמינים.

ארבעת הסרטונים הבאים זמינים כעת ואני מקווה להוסיף מעת לעת עוד ככל שהזמן יאפשר.

• פריסת אתר כללית
• חיפוש פשוט בתנ"ך
• חלקי דיבור - קידומות ותנועות
• הגדרות פסוק – מספר המילים והאותיות

2) תכונות חדשות זמינות כעת בבייס-הספר

- שיניתי את שם הכרטיסייה "לכלול\להוציא" של החיפוש המתקדם ל"הגדרות פסוק"

- הוספתי פקדים בכרטיסיית "הגדרות פסוק" כדי לאפשר סינון תוצאות חיפוש לפי סכום מילים, אותיות, תנועות, טעמים, גימטריא, אתבש לכל פסוק (סרטון הדרכה מס' 3 מראה למעשה כיצד להשתמש בחלק זה באמצעות פירוש בעל הטורים מעניין)

- הוספתי פקדים בכרטיסייה "חלקי דיבור ועוד" כדי לאפשר סינון תוצאות חיפוש לפי סכום נקודות ותנועות למילה.

New version of Base Hasefer: Tutorial videos (finally!) plus new features

1) I finally have created tutorial videos for Base Hasefer after requests from many people. (Many apologies to the native Hebrew speakers as the videos at this point are only available in English ☹ )

They can be accessed two ways:

a) Directly via the new play list for Base Hasefer tutorials or by going to the Taryag Analytics video channel.

b) From the Help popup at basehasefer.com like the following.  There are two new tabs in the Help dialogue.  “Tutorials” will display a video for the selected topic if a video exists for that topic (since this is just starting out, most topics will not have videos).  The “All Tutorials” tab will display a list of all tutorial videos that are available.

The following four videos are now available and I hope to periodically add more as time allows.

• General Site Layout
• Simple Tanach Search
• Parts of Speech - Prefixes and Vowels
• Pasuk Settings - Total Words and Letters

2) New features are now available on Base Hasefer

I renamed the Include\Exclude tab of the Advanced Search to Pasuk Settings

I added controls on the Pasuk Settings tab to enable filtering search results by total words, letters, vowels, taamim, gematria, atbash per pasuk (Tutorial video #3 actually shows how to use some of this via an interesting Baal HaTurim) 

I added controls on the Parts of Speech++ tab to enable filtering search results by total nekudos and vowels per word
